US Navy - Vietnam Veteran - TMSN Leland J. Ritchey - Susanville, CA

The Patriot Guard Riders having been invited by the family of fallen US Navy - Vietnam Veteran, TMSN Leland J Ritchey, to stand and honor during his Memorial Service in Susanville at the Veterans Memorial Hall, Susanville, CA. TMSN Leland J Ritchey served his country proudly in the US Navy 05 Jan 1966 to 03 Jan 1969.

TMSN Leland J Ritchey served two tours in Vietnam aboard Aircraft Carrier CVS 20 - USS Bennington as a Ordnance Mechanic. TMSN Leland J Ritchey was awarded the following decorations : Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars - Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device - Meritorious Unit Commendation and the National Defense Service Medal.

After his service in the US Navy, TMSN Leland J Ritchey later moved to Lassen County where he worked as a Master Mechanic the various Car Dealerships in Susanville before eventually working at and retiring from Sierra Army Depot. TMSN Leland J Ritchey loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.

Memorial Services began at 11:00 am, at the Veterans Memorial Hall – 1205 Main Street, Susanville, CA 96130. The Veterans Memorial Hall is located on Main Street across from Lassen High School.

On a slightly almost warm, partly cloudy, breezy day, 10 PGR showed to pay Tribute, Honors and Respect. Thank you to ALL who participated!
